aboard a comfortable blue water performance cruiser.

This isn't about sitting back and watching someone else sail.

You’ll be part of the crew.

Take the wheel, participate in passage planning, share watches, experience sailing at night and enjoy everything that comes with life at sea.

And along the way?

Keep an eye out for whales blowing and breaching during our October passages,

 dolphins surfing the bow wave and perhaps even drag a lure behind us.

WHAT YOUR ADVENTURE WILL LOOK LIKE

Your experience begins from day one.

Together we’ll provision Caprice, prepare the yacht for departure and participate in passage planning before setting sail.

Our aim is to enjoy the journey rather than simply race to the destination.

 Passage planning is weather dependent, with our sailing decisions always putting safety first.

There will be plenty of opportunities to take the wheel and experience different conditions.

You’ll also take your turn on night watch with another crew member one of the experiences many sailors particularly want when building their coastal sailing confidence and sea miles.

And there will be downtime.

Bring a couple of books, download your favorite

 music or movies and enjoy life aboard between watches.

There is plenty of power aboard to keep devices charged and,

 while sailing the east coast, we will often be within range of shore-based mobile coverage.

Caprice's Owner Skipper has sailed more than 30,000 nautical miles,

 including a passage from Florida, USA to Melbourne, Australia.

Her experience also includes extensive sailing along Australia's east coast, 

with 8 passages between Melbourne and Airlie Beach.

You'll be sailing as part of a small crew with an experienced skipper

 while gaining valuable practical experience of your own.

Your shared-cost contribution includes:

✓ Marina fees

Your personal off-boat expenses including flights, ground transport and meals ashore are your own responsibility.

Crew should have a minimum of Day Skipper level or appropriate coastal sailing experience.

We want Caprice to be a welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable boat to sail on.

Caprice is:

There is no alcohol consumption while underway.

Participants are recommended to be members of Australian Sailing, 

which provides some Personal Accident Insurance. If you are not a member, you will need your own Personal Accident Insurance. Private health insurance is also recommended.

As with all genuine sailing passages, weather ultimately determines our schedule.

If circumstances prevent us from reaching the planned destination by the expected arrival date, 

you will have the opportunity to go ashore at a safe port and make your own way home  

or you are very welcome to remain aboard until Caprice reaches her destination.

There are currently only a small number of places available on our 2026 passages.
